Behaviour Change Counselling Development Program (Accelerated Pathway) - Fall 2025

The Behaviour Change Counselling Development Program (BCCDP) accelerated pathway is opened only to primary health care staff. It provides education and skills training in supporting patients to develop self-management skills to effectively activate and sustain health behaviour changes. It is offered by the Primary Health Care & Chronic Disease Management Provincial Network.

Why Take This Program?

  • Provides practical, evidence-based tools to support behaviour change where it’s most possible.

  • Fosters effective motivational communication skills.

  • Supports Nova Scotia’s Chronic Disease Management and Wellness Strategy by promoting self-management.

  • Empowers patients as partners, improving care quality and sustainability.

  • Respects the well-being of both patients and providers.

  • Prioritizes prevention, wellness, and self-management for an aging population with rising chronic conditions.

The program includes eight self-directed modules and three live practice workshops. Workshop 1 runs monthly beginning September 24th. If you want to complete the whole program it runs from September 24 to November 19, 2025.
