Behaviour Change Counselling Development Program - Fall 2025

This 3-credit-per-hour group and self-learning assessment program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Earn up to 42 certified Mainpro+® credits! All modules and workshops are mandatory to be eligible for Mainpro+ credits. 

The Behaviour Change Counselling Development Program (BCCDP) provides education, skills training and support for Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Residents and Medical Students who are interested in supporting patients to develop self-management skills to effectively activate and sustain health behaviour changes. It is offered by the Primary Health Care & Chronic Disease Management Provincial Network and was the recipient of the Patient and Family choice Quality Award for 2024.

  • All providers reported increased knowledge, skill, and confidence in using behaviour change counselling skills and nearly all have changed their practice accordingly.

The program runs from September 18 to December 11, 2025.
