We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Paige Moorhouse as the Division Head for Geriatric Medicine within the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Paige Moorhouse is a Professor of Medicine (Geriatrics) at Dalhousie University and Senior Medical Director for the Episodic and Integrated Acute Care Network at Nova Scotia Health. She completed residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Dalhousie University in 2007. She completed a Master’s of Public Health at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in 2008. She is a current fellow in the Health Excellence Canada EXTRA program, and is working towards her CHE designation through the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
Dr. Moorhouse draws on her clinical experience to inspire her clinical research and program development in frailty, end-of-life care, and technology solutions for team-based care. She is co-founder of the Palliative and Therapeutic Harmonization Program (PATH), a multi award winning program dedicated to helping patients and their essential care partners make health care decisions that reflect individual values and quality of life. Dr. Moorhouse is the recipient of the Kauffman Award; a Meritorious Service Medal by the Governor General; and the 2017 Dalhousie Young Alumnus of the Year award. In her spare time, Paige is in her happy place when spending time with her family, biking, and exploring new ways to get out of her comfort zone.
