Important Updates to the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act (IPTA)

Please read this memo regarding updates to the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act (IPTA). This memo includes high-level details about the legislated changes and links to the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act (IPTA) amendments and other legislation the changes are based on.

OPOR Update  

Design Workshops continue to deliver significant progress towards completing the Clinical Information System (CIS) design.

The OPOR Program is now nearing the end of the design and build phase for the new CIS and moving into the testing phase to validate the design and build to ensure the system serves the needs of healthcare workers and physicians in Nova Scotia. Learn more about the OPOR Program and the OPOR-CIS at opor.nshealth.ca.

Dr. Wylie Verge Memorial Award 

On behalf of the DGH Foundation, we are happy to announce that Tanya MacNeil, Infection Prevention & Control is the recipient of the Dr. Wylie Verge Memorial Award. This award was created in honour of Dr. Wylie Verge who passed away in 2016. It is presented to a DGH physician or staff members who goes above and beyond the call of duty and who shares the same passion and commitment Dr. Verge had for the Dartmouth General Hospital.
