Dr. Faisal Rahman is the Head of Psychiatry Department in the Eastern Zone.
He works closely with Nadine Wadden attending and running leadership, departmental, and provincial meetings. He is also the Director of Clinical Assistant Program, the first program in rural Nova Scotia.
Dr. Rahman was born in Karachi, Pakistan and has lived in Dubai for a while. Hence, he completed his medical degree at Sindh Medical College in Karachi then did his residency in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He moved to Canada since his family was here and decided to work in Antigonish, a rural and peaceful small town in Nova Scotia.
The leadership position gave him the opportunity to advocate for the system and patients. Bringing good changes and better quality of health care to the people of Nova Scotia. He appreciates tackling and removing stigma against mental health patients.
During his spare time, he plays squash, swims, and travels. He also likes to read books and watch movies.
