Dr. Bentley is currently Professor and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.
He received his medical degree from Leeds University UK in 1987 and completed residency at Dalhousie University in 1997. He then completed a two-year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1999. Dr. Bentley is Past President of the International Federation of Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy (IFCPC) and Past-President of the Society of Canadian Colposcopists (SCC). He is also Past-President of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology of Canada (GOC). Dr. Bentley is the past Chair of the Royal College Nucleus Committee for Gynecologic Oncology.
He serves on numerous national and provincial committees involved with cervical cancer screening and gynecological cancer. Research and clinical interests include cervical cancer prevention, colposcopy, clinical trials including the application of HPV Vaccines and chemotherapy trials
