Dr. Courtney Mazeroll is a full-time hospitalist and Medical Site Lead at Digby General Hospital.
She worked as a paramedic for 7 years prior to going to medical school. Right now, she is a family physician with a specialty in dermatology and aesthetic medicine. Most of her days are spent doing inpatient care, but one day per week is spent working at a Medispa doing medical esthetics.
Dr. Mazeroll is a proud Acadian who was born and raised in Clare, Nova Scotia. She studied at University de Sherbrooke in both Sherbrooke, Quebec and Moncton, New Brunswick. Therefore, she always knew that she would return to work in Nova Scotia after finishing her studies since it is a beautiful place to live and raise a family she says.
Dr. Mazeroll enjoys work because of the talented group of people, both staff and patients, who make it fun to come to work. She says “the most rewarding part is getting to make a difference in people's lives. This is what keeps me going.”
Out of work, she has always been into fitness and bodybuilding, and in recent years she has taken it to the next level and has begun competing in bodybuilding shows in the bikini division. Hence, it is challenging and requires lots of hard work and dedication, but she loves everything about it.
