Dr. Kenneth Rockwood

Dr. Kenneth Rockwood is an international expert on frailty, an accomplished researcher, and health system leader. He is also the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation Professor of Frailty and Ageing Research at Dalhousie University, where he has taught in geriatric medicine and neurology for more than 30 years.  

A native of Newfoundland, he received his MD from Memorial University, and completed internal medicine training at the University of Alberta and geriatric medicine at Dalhousie. Dr. Rockwood serves as Senior Medical Director of Nova Scotia Health's Frailty and Elder Care Network, where he maintains an active clinical practice and provides consultation services across the province.  

Dr. Rockwood lives in Halifax with his wife Susan Howlett, also a Memorial grad, and herself a leader in basic science and translational frailty research. They have two sons.
